MANAGER - COAL TECHNOLOGY Kalimantan Timur - Sangatta
Qualification & Experience:
- Broad experience and proven skills in coal management, stockpile management, coal quality inspection and testing and coal utilization at power utilities. As a guide fifteen (15) years plus experience, five (5) of which have been in a Senior position in Coal Technology or Superintending Company.
- Knowledge of geological modeling and mine planning and coal mining practices.
- Bachelor Degree S1 in Geology, Chemistry or Metallurgy.
- Knowledge and exposure to a large number of coal mines, coal types, customers and end user facilities.
- Strong people management skills, ideally with training in supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Leading technical visits to existing and potential customers with the objective of securing new market opportunities as well as developing long term customer relationships. Provide customers with coal handling and utilization advice and attend trial burns at the customers power stations.
- Direct and manage the Department to meet business targets, adhere to Company and Government standards, effect safety and environmental regulations and co-ordinate activities within the units.
- Manage and direct coal quality management from the Mining Division Pits, Pit J, Melawan and Bengalon through to the port stockpiles and onto ships ensuring that ships are loaded in accordance with contractual requirements. Accountable for providing coal quality management services on a 24 hour basis in line with coal production and ship loading and for loading all ships with coal blends that optimize returns to KPC.
- Manage, appraise and evaluate employees to assess their performances, provide individual feedback, organize training and enhance their professional and technical skills as well as the capabilities of the operation.
- Forward regular reports and updates to the Director Marketing and Strategic Projects to be informative and demonstrate accountability.
- Review and analyze coal quality systems and work undertaken by the company’s various units to provide input, gauge progress against goals, consistency of approach and initiate new development activities, designed to support business objectives.
- Undertake specific (for example, the installation of a Pit to Port coal quality management system, the review of dirty coal management and processing systems and methodology) as required, to consolidate the Department’s resources, enhance effectiveness and contribute to KPC’s overall success.
