Job Description and Responsibilities:
- This position provides direct field level operational leadership, tools, training and services in the area of Health, Safety, Security and Environment for Surface Construction Projects
- Accountable for providing operational health, safety, security and environmental advice, support and guidance tthe regions construction organization on their social and legal responsibilities for minimizing loss tpersonnel, equipment, environment and the public
- This position will accommodate persons wishing tpursue a career in HSSE within an entry level position, through gainful experience within a field based team setting
- Promote within workplace the UA HHSE/SD-MS in Onshore Projects regions in a fit for purpose way
- Maintaining long-lasting and constructive internal and external relationships
- Support the HSE Coordinator, Onshore Projects through various improvement projects and initiatives
- Promote effective communication and working relationships in HSE matters between the local Construction Superintendents and Projects Engineers and contract workforce
- Provide operational leadership tachieve Goal Zerby working with Shell and contractors
- Working with HSSE MS components within the region including assisting with annual HSSE plans, objectives, targets, performance measures and scorecards
- Assisting with HSSE Program development including Contractor HSSE performance and implementation within the region
- Participate in incident investigations that will minimize or mitigate future incident occurrences impacting people, assets, reputation and the environment and promote lateral learning
- Conduct/participate in auditing / Inspecting HSSE activities and programs internally for assigned area
- Participating in HSSE special projects, program development and implementation
- Providing interpretation of applicable federal and provincial regulations (OH&S, TDG, WHMIS, Building and fire codes, WCB, etc.)
- Participate in reviews of critical safe work practices across the region and validate procedures and safe work practices (including Waste, WHMIS, TDG, and Chemical Handling)
